SUSAN NEWBURY

I am a Connecticut artist with a background in graphic design and painting. My landscape paintings are drawn from

local rural landscape, woodland trails, waterways and stunning gardens. I simply love being out in nature as it always provides a sense of wonder, fresh inspiration and constant resource for me.

My illustrations and abstracts stem from nature and blended with my interest in shape, form and pattern. I try not to dwell on anything specific and lean in on spontaneity and lightness allowing for varied and unpredictable results.

Whether creating a brilliant garden painting, a vivid illustration, or the simplest minimalist work, I try to maintain the fundamentals of composition, color and proportion, adding personal

expression to each piece.
